Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has expressed confidence in his team’s mindset ahead of their Premier League showdown with Manchester City, despite Erling Haaland’s prolific goal-scoring form. The Norwegian striker has netted nine goals in four league games this season, including two hat tricks, and is closing in on 100 goals for City across all competitions. However, Jorginho insists Arsenal remains unfazed by Haaland’s rampage.

“Erling scoring again … it is starting to make us laugh,” the Italian said. “We watch all the games and love the Premier League. We watch [City] as well, but it doesn’t get to our heads. We need to focus on ourselves.”

Jorginho praised Arsenal’s mentality, pointing to their gritty 1-0 win over Tottenham, despite missing key players like captain Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice. He believes Arsenal’s improved unity and team-first mentality have strengthened their resolve since last season.

“You learn more about each other, and everyone wants the best for the team. When you put the team first, good things happen,” Jorginho added. “I think we are on the right path.”

Arsenal, who finished second to City last season, are preparing for the Sunday clash at the Etihad Stadium after starting their European campaign at Atalanta on Thursday, while City face Inter Milan in the Champions League.
