Former Nigerian midfielder Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha has boldly declared himself one of the best dribblers in football history, dismissing comparisons to current stars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Vinicius Junior.
During his illustrious career, Okocha showcased his exceptional skills while playing for prominent European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Fenerbahce, and Eintracht Frankfurt. Known for his mesmerizing ability to navigate through defenders with astonishing flair, he left a lasting impression on the game.
Since Okocha’s retirement in 2012, Nigeria has yet to see a player match his unique skill set. In a recent viral video, he was asked which contemporary players could rival his dribbling prowess. However, he rebuffed comparisons to renowned talents like Messi, Neymar, Osimhen, Cristiano Ronaldo, Phil Foden, Ademola Lookman, Florian Wirtz, Jadon Sancho, Jamal Musiala, Bernardo Silva, and Kylian Mbappe.
Okocha confidently stated, “Of course, I was the best dribbler; that was my strength.”
