Anna Mariana Casemiro, wife of Brazilian footballer Carlos Casemiro, took to Instagram to showcase her husband’s impressive trophy cabinet, including five replicas of the Champions League trophy, following criticism from Manchester United fans.
The backlash came after Casemiro’s performance in Manchester United’s match against Liverpool, where he was blamed for losing possession that led to two of Liverpool’s three goals.
The match saw Luis Diaz score twice for Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah sealing the 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, highlighting United’s struggles to match their rivals. Fans, frustrated with Casemiro’s performance, took to social media, prompting Anna to remind them of her husband’s illustrious career at Real Madrid, where he won five Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles, and a Copa del Rey.
In response to her post, one United fan acknowledged Casemiro’s achievements but pointed out the harsh reality of the 32-year-old’s current form, suggesting that “time catches everyone” and hinting at his decline.
Casemiro was substituted at halftime during the match, replaced by the 20-year-old Toby Collyer, underscoring concerns about his recent performances.
