Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, despite an offer of €70 million. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker, who signed a new contract in December 2023 with a release clause set at €130 million, has made it clear that any potential deal must include this clause.
According to reports on Sunday evening, Napoli was considering Al Ahli’s offer, which fell significantly short of the release clause. However, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Monday that Osimhen has rejected the proposal from the Saudi side.
Romano stated, “Victor Osimhen is not accepting Al Ahli proposals as he required important salary AND release clause. The release clause is crucial or the deal will not happen at all, sources confirm.”
Osimhen has been training separately from his Napoli teammates this summer, fueling speculation about his future. With the transfer window still open, it remains to be seen whether Osimhen will secure a move elsewhere or continue with Napoli under his current contract.
